As a self proclaimed beauty expert, I've got a few tricks up my sleeve for the needle phobic! Here is how to fake it before you make it! 1. Start by exfoliating your lips. This is best to do after a shower, when the dead skin cells have already been softened. "Ain't nobody got time for that?" I hear you, you can use a wet cotton pad, just hold it to your lips for a minute or two. 2. Ready, Set, Exfoliate! We've got options here ladies! Option 1 - Use a baby wash cloth (find them at the dollar store or Walmart, etc.) Wet the cloth and rub all over the lips to remove the Nasty dead skin. Ew! You were going to put your lipstick on top of that? Option 2 - Mix about I teaspoon of sugar with a couple drops of oil (Coconut or Olive) to make a paste. Use your finger or a tooth brush (your designated "exfoliating" toothbrush) to scrub away all the Yucky stuff! 3. Pat your lips dry, then use a touch of concealer as a base for your lipstick. I normally use Makeup Forever's Full Cover Extreme Camouflage Cream. http://www.makeupforever.com/int/en-int/make-up/face/concealer/full-cover 4. Line your lips with a Natural lip pencil and exaggerate the line a little, and let's not get crazy here ladies! We've all seen some over drawn fails ;) Keep it Classy with a color like Mac Cosmetics lip pencil in "Subculture" http://www.maccosmetics.com/product/shaded/167/340/Products/Lips/Lip-Pencil/Lip-Pencil/index.tmpl 5. Fill in the lips with a nude lippy like Lime Crime Coquette http://limecrime.com/lips/opaque-lipstick-22.html 6. Use the same concealer as your base, and dab a minimal amount in the centre of your lips with your finger. 7. Finish the look with a nude toned lip plumper. I like Fusion Beauty's Lip Infatuation- In the Flesh http://fusionbeauty.com/lipfusion-infatuation-liquid-shine-multi-action-lip-fattener Volia! Fuller lips are yours for the day! Now, if you are ready for the real thing...email me or give me a call and and we can chat about the injectables that are specially designed for the lips. I can point you in the right direction for the best injections in the GTA! Of course, if you've already had your lips "a hem" enhanced, you can still follow the steps above to take that pretty pout to the next level! Angelina who?

Hello! Hope you had a fantastic Halloween :) I thought it would be a good idea to share a photo of the Halloween makeup my husband and I wore for Halloween this year. We were "Dia De Los Muertos" inspired sugar skulls. Here's how to recreate the look: Started by blacking out eyelid and surrounding area with Smashbox-waterproof "jet set" liner, applied using a flat eyeshadow brush all around the eye. I then used Mac eyeshadow in "carbon" to darken it up and set the crème liner, the next step was to add some green shadow from the Cargo-Hands of Hope palate. To whiten the face base, I used cover fx (lightest shade possible) and set it with Make Up Forever Artist Shadow - Satiny finish #502 White Sand. www.makeupforever.com For the black details I used the Sephora liquid waterproof eyeliner. and for the finer green details I used the Stilla "stay all day liquid liner" in Emerald. www.stilacosmetics.com My lips were Caryl Baker Visage liner in "Rum Raisin" and the lipstick was Lime Crime-suedeberry. www.limecrime.com The black jewels were from the local dollar store, and they had adhesive on them already...not even one fell off! I shaded/contoured the cheek and temple area with the same eye shadows that were used for the eye area. The finishing touch was the contact lens from Desio the color was "desert dream". www.desiolens.com It was so much fun to put makeup on Paul! I can't wait until next Halloween! Hello and welcome to my blog!
Up until today I didn't really know how to start my blog... I now have the perfect reason. In May 2014 I was able to do makeup, for my own wedding! YES! I got married to the love of my life Paul. It was a destination wedding, and it was absolutely perfect! After countless wedding makeup applications for all the beautiful brides that I have known throughout the years it was finally my turn and the pressure was on! I found out last week that we were featured in a Destination Wedding magazine! I was flattered and proud that they decided to use our photos! Check it out here; (our story starts on page 128) http://www.sunwing.ca/flipbooks/sunwing-weddings-fall-2014/files/assets/basic-html/page1.html Well here we have it! Now that I've started I will have to continue ;) Check back often for all things makeup, cosmetic procedures, skin care advice, fashion, fitness and all things beauty! Alessandra xox |
